Eldonian Bits- from Jeffries Saddlery

Established in the late 18th century, the Eldonian brand is one of the original and most respected name in riding hardwear throughout the equestrian world.
Eldonian is owned and marketed by Jeffries Saddlery, under whose supervision only the finest stainless steel is used to manufacture products in a carefully controlled engineering environment. This ensures that Eldonian stainless steel hardwear meets the exacting standards of quality, strength, reliability and safety demanded by today's discerning riders.
Eldonian's
Minos range feature a very high copper content allow that is completely Nickel free. The bits encourage salivation and relaxation and feature gold coloured rings.
These bits are available to purchase on the
Bit Bank Australia 30 Day Trial offer.
Happy Mouth bits are made from high quality plastic with a stainless steel core for maximum strength and safety. It is very important to ensure the correct fit of the Happy Mouth range, to prevent excessive chewing damage to the mouthpiece. It is dangerous to continue riding in a bit with severe chewing damage.
**Due to their softer composition, these bits are
not available on the 30 day trial offer.**

Anita's Tip: It is recommended that 3 and 4 ring gags be ridden with two reins if the rider is competent and confident with this. The reason behind this, is that it allows the horse to be ridden on the "snaffle" ring (though as there is the ring above there is a very mild poll pressure) when traveling well and responsively, and then the rider may use the bottom rein when more control is needed. This will help prevent a horse that goes round terribly overbent trying to avoid the pressure. While there is poll pressure with the 3 and 4 ring gag bits, the action that largely causes the head lowering response is the shift of the mouthpiece heavily onto the tongue when the gag rein is used.
For safety and security, particularly when riding across country, the two reins can be taped together at the buckle with electrical tape. If using a martingale, the rings should only ever be used on the snaffle rein, not the gag rein.
