What is a "Bit Bank"?
Bella Equestrian's Bit Bank Australia provides a range of horse bits available to purchase on a 30 Day Trial. This allows you to feel totally confident in your choice of bit for your horse, as you have the time to try the bit at home, with your trainer or coach, at competitions- in your situation with your horse. Finding the right bit can be a daunting task- let us help you make that choice with confidence.
New bits from Neue Schule, Eldonian and Pee Wee are available to purchase on a 30 day trial. We also have a growing range of 2nd hand bits to rent only, to help you correctly bit your horse. (Happy Mouth Bits are not available on trial due to their softer composition).
How Does it Work?
Bit Bank Australia gives you 30 days to trial any bit purchased. When the order is placed, we take full payment for the bit, post the bit to you with your invoice. Your 30 day return date will be clearly stated on the invoice. Shipping is FREE anywhere in Australia.
If you find the bit is not quite right, you can return it for an exchange or refund, less a rental fee. (There is no rental fee charged on purchases not returned). You can exchange the bits as often as you like, as long as it is within the 30 day trail period. All bits must be returned clean, with original labels and in the plastic bag provided. It is suggested that all returns are via registered post as no refunds can be made for bits not received.
All bits are disinfected on return to Bella Equestrian and again prior to shipping if not brand new. However, we recommend you take your own precautions if you are concerned about bio safety.
Some Important General Bitting Information:
Buying a new horse bit is never a quick fix, and simply cannot replace bad riding. Choosing progressively stronger bits is usually indicative of a training or communication problem between the rider and the horse, and not simply a bitting problem.
Please take a holistic approach to thinking about bitting your horse, factoring in correct dental care, stable management, feeding, fitness,saddle fit, a good trainer and above all, patience. We can help by providing you with a "Pre-Bitting Checklist" to help you with this, and by chatting with you personally.
On the other hand, if it's not broken, don't fix it! If your horse is comfortable and going well for you in the current bit, don't feel pressured to change it to follow fashion or an off the cuff comment. After all, you know your horse best.

How do I shop?
We do not sell our bits through the Online Shop. This is ensure we have the correct information from you before sending you a bit on trial. You can either complete the Enquiry Form or call us direct for a consultation that can be a long or as short as you need. We feel giving you the opportunity to discuss your requirements with a real person will allow you to make a clear decision when it comes to selecting a new bit.
